Seed of life
Also called seven circles
A modern name for the first stable ring of the flower
Geometry symbolsSeed of life meaning
The seed of life is seven equal circles: one in the middle and six around it. It is the first ring of the flower-of-life lattice. “Seven days of creation” is a modern overlay, not a label on an ancient drawing.
Seven circles: a center, and the ring that exhausts it.
The name. “Seed” is a teaching metaphor, not an antique title.
Where it comes from
Six equal circles fit around a seventh of the same radius. It is the first decision the flower of life makes, and then repeats. Genesis-week allegories — seven days, seven stages — are modern overlays. They are preachable. They are not inscribed under the figure in an Egyptian quarry.
Geometry
Beginning, before size
The seed does not know whether you will stop or go on to nineteen circles or to a pavement. That is why the metaphor works, if you keep it as a metaphor: a start that is already complete as a pattern and unfinished as a project.
Geometry
Do not count the days into it
Seven is a number people cannot leave alone. The figure earns seven by packing, not by scripture. If a teacher moves from the packing to the week of creation in one breath, notice the join. You are allowed to admire one and decline the other.
